With each event, there are two funding sources:
Participants obtain money from individuals and businesses to fund specific orphan projects. These projects provide orphans with assistance in many areas, including education, job training, health care, food, nutritional support, housing, clothing, safe drinking water, and locating a permanent family.
These fees cover all event costs such as:
t-shirts, race numbers, insurance, office supplies, park permit, advertising, banners, portable toilets, race timing, and rented equipment. Remaining funds are used by River Run for Orphans, Inc. for development expenses connected to existing events in cities throughout the country and establishing new events. These monies are also used for administrative expenses such as paid staff, travel, promotion, support materials, office equipment, phone, computer, mailings, and web site.
